  • Kuvaus: Ismini is a young office clerk. She is also an emotional daydreamer and a keen reader of a cheap popular magazine entitled The Scent of Violet. She is led astray by her cousin Ntina and gets involved in stealing things. The two girls, assisted by their cousin, steal their grandmother’s valuables as punishment for her authoritarian attitude towards them. This action upsets Ismini, who wavers between two diametrically opposed mentalities and attitudes. The two girls are torn apart by the sheer force of their attractive-repulsive relationship; their conflict heightens, and they part company. It's a film about love, money (the source of all evil), dreams, the loss of one's childhood and the painful transition to adulthood.
