LORDS
LORDS

A figurative poster by Minos Argyrakis, depicting a strange being resembling a reptile with two heads: the first belongs to a priest, sporting two horns on his hat and a pair of wings on his shoulders. The second belongs to a general giving orders with his arm raised high, pointing at something. It also has two legs with long claws and a big hole in the middle of its body, from which a crowd emerges, while further at left a woman in black stands out in the crowd, holding a gun in her hand. The crowd is also depicted surrounding the reptile, lurking, ready to pop out from everywhere. In the background, the sea and some land can be discerned. At the bottom of the poster the title reads in red, capital letters: LORDS. Below, written in minuscules: “Some people never change”. Further down: “A film by Manousos Manousakis”. At the bottom of the drawing lays the artist’s signature: “Minos Argyrakis 77”.
With this poster, Minos Argyrakis transfuses the essence of the political and social life, with vivid characteristics of his art and folk as well as naïve influences. Numerous heads pop up from everywhere and surround the abominable reptile, which is about to devour them.
